Hi, my name is Stephanie Chan—passionate storyteller, culture thinker, and content enthusiast. I'm mainly obsessed with film, art, surrealism, and true crime. Today, I specialize in creating editorial and video content about culture, media, and technology. As a San Francisco native, the intersection of arts, culture, and technology is fully enmeshed in who I am. After focusing on media and communications throughout my undergraduate and master's degrees, I began my work in content production. I accomplish that in a few ways:
WRITER
I'm a writer of short fiction and poetry. I was fortunate enough to be a fellow in 2018's Interdisciplinary Writers Lab at Kearny Street Workshop.
I’ve written technology articles for ReadWrite and Cisco, specializing in trending news reports, interviews, on-the-ground reporting, and long-form culture pieces. Pieces have been republished by Business Insider and PopSugar, and articles have reached over 50,000 pageviews.
VIDEO PRODUCER
Through directing and producing videos for Cisco’s YouTube and Facebook channel, I have cultivated my passion for constructing beautiful stories on video. I produce and host Cisco's Facebook Live series Live@Cisco, where I interview leaders and executives. My culture and talent brand video campaign Meet the Millennials won Cisco’s Expand Your Boundaries award.
SPEAKER
I hosted interviews and show-flow at 2018's Cisco Live conference in Orlando. I also love sharing my expertise and experience about brand newsrooms and social media at conferences, bootcamps, and webinars — some I have done for PRNews and Social Media Strategies Summit.
BRAND ADVISOR
Editorial and video content can inspire, create emotional reactions, and transform a brand. My experience in content production has also taught me about these assets’ powerful marketing ability. Through showcasing thought leadership and company culture, I produce content that conveys company’s most important messages.
CONTENT CREATOR
I managed journalists through Cisco’s writers program, editing articles and working through content management tools to keep Cisco’s brand newsroom running on a daily basis.
When I’m not writing, I love traveling, walking around museums, seeking mindfulness, taking new classes, and saying hi to stranger’s pets.
